Android Engineer - Remote

Role overview

ElevenLabs is seeking an experienced Android Engineer to join its expanding mobile team. You’ll build and improve features in the Android reader app, integrating AI-powered audio functionality and helping shape product capabilities and user experience in the audio AI space.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement innovative features for the Android reader app to improve engagement and functionality
• Collaborate with design, product, and research teams to align engineering with strategic goals
• Plan, build, and maintain the mobile platform infrastructure for shipping high-quality audio AI features
• Ensure strong app performance, responsiveness, and stability across devices
• Participate in code reviews and help establish engineering best practices
• Stay current with emerging technologies and integrate them to improve efficiency and innovation

Requirements

• Proven experience in native Android development with a track record of shipped features
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java
• Experience with Android SDK, APIs, and architecture components
• Solid understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and best practices
• Experience with A/B testing, data analysis, and a scientific approach to experimentation
• Familiarity with Git
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
