About the role
Role Overview
Patreon is seeking an Android Engineer to help build and ship Android product features that support creators on the Patreon platform.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver well-scoped Android product feature milestones.
- Drive technical design of scalable, well-tested, maintainable Android components.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, data scientists, designers, and other engineers.
- Enhance usability and engagement by championing solutions for discovery features.
- Support engineering culture by mentoring and guiding engineers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of mobile software development experience.
- Kotlin experience.
- Experience with modern web technologies, specifically REST.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams.
- Willingness to take on new challenges and expand skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Nice to Have
- Product-minded approach and experience contributing to discovery/creator engagement experiences.
Location & Work Model
- Based in New York or San Francisco.
- Hybrid model: in-office 2 days per week (with remote-eligible roles having different expectations).
