About the role
Role: Growth Android Engineer III
Join onXmaps’ Growth domain team to improve the end-to-end user journey across onboarding, purchasing, and activation—especially post-purchase activation and third-party library integrations.
Responsibilities
- Develop new user-facing features in the Android app using Kotlin
- Write high-quality code, tests, and review pull requests promptly
- Participate in Android team architecture and code standard discussions
- Maintain 3rd-party library integrations:
- Braze
- mParticle
- Create ideas and solutions aligned to the team’s quarterly mission
- Collaborate cross-functionally; lead by example and embody company values
- Use data analysis to identify opportunities for new experiments
- Embed AI as a repeatable co-pilot in daily workflows, integrating experimentation thoughtfully and validating with sound judgment
Requirements
- 4+ years professional software development experience
- Android development (Kotlin and/or Java) as the professional focus for at least 2+ years
- Experience with gRPC, GraphQL, and/or REST
- Strong computer science foundation
- Proficiency with Git (especially rebasing)
- Ownership, customer advocacy, and strong coding craftsmanship
- Mentoring mindset: mentor junior engineers and be mentored by senior engineers
- Willingness to travel bi-annually for multiple days to a corporate office or strategic location
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Experience with subscription in-app purchases
- Experience with analytics and client events
- Interest in Consumer Psychology / Behavioral Economics
- Experience with Braze / mParticle / Split
- Knowledge of async programming
