About the role

Role Overview

Mid Android Engineer to help build and scale the ARQ Android experience. You’ll join the Core Product Team as the mobile team doubles in size, contributing to high-quality features across multiple product areas.

Responsibilities

Build and ship high-quality Android features across product areas (e.g., Support Chat, Stock Trading)
Write clean, maintainable Kotlin using modern Android tools and frameworks
Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, and other Mobile engineers to deliver features end-to-end
Own features from implementation through launch, ensuring reliability, polish, and production readiness
Contribute to app quality: performance, stability, error handling, crash handling, and UX polish
Participate in code reviews and help maintain strong engineering standards
Learn quickly, take ownership, and grow your impact as the mobile team scales

Requirements

2–4 years of professional Android development experience (ideally consumer-facing apps)
Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android Studio
Solid understanding of Android fundamentals: lifecycle, networking, storage, permissions, and performance
Familiarity with modern Android tools/frameworks: Jetpack, Coroutines, and Compose
Ability to write clean, maintainable code and follow professional software production routines
Understanding of app architecture and patterns such as MVVM or MVI
Product-quality mindset (UX smoothness, edge cases, device differences, reliability)
Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and learn quickly
Strong knowledge of Android from a user perspective (intuitive, polished, easy to use)
