About the role
Role Overview
Android Developer (Full-Time, Salary Exempt)
As the sole dedicated Android Developer at TeamSideline, you will design and implement Android software solutions, working with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. You’ll be responsible for application performance, quality, and responsiveness.
Responsibilities
- Develop & maintain Android applications using Kotlin
- Design, develop, and test
- Write clean, efficient, well-documented code
- Implement solutions compliant with enterprise architecture and processes
- Create unit tests (including edge cases and usability/reliability checks)
- Problem solving
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues in existing code
- Propose ideas to improve software functionality
- Strategic technology decision support
- Identify and communicate technology standards/frameworks/roadmaps to guide decisions
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to build intuitive, visually appealing interfaces
- Work with cross-functional teams to ship new features
- Escalation & documentation
- Escalate complex/unresolved issues
- Document code, processes, and procedures for knowledge transfer
- Continuous learning
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices
- Participate in professional development
- Additional duties as requested
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Kotlin experience building production Android applications
- Experience with Jetpack Compose for modern Android UI
- Strong understanding of the mobile development life cycle
- Git (version control)
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, web services, and microservices architecture
- Cloud experience with AWS or Azure
- Communication skills: strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and specifications
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple requests/projects
Nice-to-haves / Additional mentioned skills
- Background education in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with triaging, debugging, and monitoring automated tests (mentioned as 3–5 years)
