About the role

Role Overview

You will be an Android Developer for a flagship mobile banking application serving millions of customers. The work is centered on redesigning and developing a modern, modular Android architecture for scalability, performance, and reliability in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain a scalable, modular Android banking app with strong performance and security.
Write clean, efficient code; design system architecture; and debug production issues.
Build modern UIs using Jetpack Compose.
Optimize performance using advanced techniques and ensure reliability for real customer transactions.
Translate design mockups into functional features and own work from concept through deployment.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to shared libraries and design systems.
Continuously improve maintainability and scalability of the codebase.
Stay current with industry best practices and evaluate new tools/frameworks.

Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience shipping production mobile applications.
Deep expertise in Kotlin and the Android SDK.
Proven experience with Jetpack Compose.
Strong understanding of modern Android architecture, including Coroutines and Flow.
Experience with automated testing frameworks.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines for Android.
Prior experience deploying apps to the Google Play Store at scale (highly desirable).

Preferred / Nice to Have

Familiarity with modularized Gradle builds.
Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) experience.
Performance optimization: Baseline Profiles and Macrobenchmark.
Dependency injection: Hilt or Dagger.
Experience in regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, insurance) where compliance/auditability matters.
Contributions to internal tooling, shared libraries, or adopted design systems.
