Android Developer

Role Overview

You will develop and maintain the native Android experience for GrabJobs’ recruitment platform. You’ll build high-quality, reliable, user-friendly mobile features that improve usability and performance for both employers and job seekers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy native Android features for:
  • onboarding, account management
  • payments, transfers, rewards
  • AI-assisted user journeys
• Translate complex financial workflows into simple, fast, and reliable mobile experiences.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and AI specialists to move features from concept to production.
• Maintain high app quality by monitoring performance metrics, crash reports, and user feedback.
• Implement robust authentication, secure data handling, and reliable financial workflows.
• Improve app performance, loading times, and stability through debugging and optimization.
• Participate in code reviews and follow best practices for scalable, maintainable code.
• Stay current with Android development trends, tools, and best practices.

Requirements

• Proven native Android development experience using Kotlin, with a strong portfolio of published apps.
• Deep understanding of Android architecture components, including Jetpack, Coroutines, and Flow.
• Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization, and resolving production issues.
• Product sense with a focus on UX design and usability.
• Ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations and manage changing priorities under tight deadlines.
• Excellent English communication skills for collaboration in a remote, multicultural team.
• Experience integrating APIs, secure data handling, and implementing financial workflows in mobile apps.

Nice to Have

• A track record of improving reliability through monitoring (crashes/metrics) and iterative UX improvements.
