Role Overview

Jefit is hiring an experienced Android engineer to take end-to-end ownership of the Android Progressive Overload work. You’ll work closely with the CTO and engineering team to ship features that impact real product metrics and revenue.

What You’ll Build

• Adaptive Plan on Android: Make the mesocycle engine feel native on Android with:
  • Clean Jetpack Compose UIs
  • Fast offline-first sync
  • Instant progression updates after every set
• NSPI dashboard accuracy: Fix custom-exercise and bodyweight/duration-based contribution calculations to unblock users adopting the Adaptive Plan.
• Android funnel work: Improve onboarding conversion, activation, and subscription retention.
• Infrastructure modernization: Migrate off legacy patterns and deepen Compose adoption using:
  • Coroutines/Flow throughout
• AI-assisted dev workflow: Use and advocate for AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) to ship faster.

Requirements

• Proven Android production experience: At least one app on Google Play or a substantial Android codebase (we prioritize shipped products over years).
• Strong Kotlin + modern Android stack:
  • Jetpack Compose
  • Coroutines/Flow
  • Room (or SQLDelight) in production
  • Fit is unlikely if you’ve been on XML + RxJava + AsyncTask and haven’t adopted Compose recently.
• Real fluency with AI coding assistants: Integrated into daily workflow (not occasional debugging). Fast learning is a key screen.
• US work authorization with no visa sponsorship (Citizen/GC/EAD/TN).
• On-site requirement: Full-time, Santa Clara office, 5 days/week (not remote or hybrid).

Compensation & Benefits

• $115,000 – $130,000 base + equity (ESOP) + benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
