Role overview

Senior Android Software Engineer to lead development of native Android applications at GrabJobs. You’ll own key features, drive technical excellence, and act as the Android subject matter expert, shaping the future of the company’s mobile offerings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain native Android applications, with primary focus on features for the biometric product Identifi
• Lead development and upkeep of GrabJobs Human Systems suite of ATAK plugins and integrations with core products
• Collaborate with SDK vendors to integrate advanced functionalities
• Provide Android mentorship and guidance to the engineering team
• Improve user experience, security, and application performance across Android platforms
• Ensure engineering quality via strong architecture, thorough code reviews, and collaborative development practices
• Support business development/mission success teams by troubleshooting technical issues and providing expert guidance
• Stay current with the latest Android development trends, tools, and best practices

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional Android development experience using native tools
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java, with a track record of shipping high-quality mobile apps
• Experience contributing to and/or leveraging open-source projects
• Solid understanding of cryptographic principles and security best practices
• Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment
• Growth mindset; willingness to learn new technologies and improve existing codebases
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to operate in ambiguity
• Strong communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
