About the role

Role Overview

Join Affirm’s Fraud Strategy & Analytics team as an Analytics Manager. You will lead fraud monitoring and detection, partner cross-functionally to build fraud detection systems, and use advanced analytics to optimize fraud management strategies.

Key Missions

  • Lead fraud monitoring & detection and own fraud escalations as the company scales internationally.
  • Develop fraud monitoring/prevention strategies across the network, advising on best practices and aligning efforts with risk management goals.
  • Leverage advanced data analytics to identify loss drivers, generate insights, and optimize fraud management.
  • Report on fraud trends and respond to fraud rings.
  • Support team planning and goal setting.

Requirements

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment; responsive and available during peak fraud activity.
  • Ability to work later starts several days a week for overlap with US-based colleagues.
  • Strong product knowledge mindset—understand how the product works and how to improve it.
  • Multi-tasking and strong time management; rapidly shift focus as fraud tactics and pressure change.
  • Technical skills: extensive experience writing and analyzing SQL; comfort using Python or other scripting languages for data analysis.
  • Industry knowledge: working knowledge of payment processing fundamentals and familiarity with industry risk trends and risk strategy development.
  • Communication: build strong cross-functional partnerships; clearly communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Fraud Management or a related field, ideally with an emphasis on analytics.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or local equivalent) in a quantitatively rigorous field (e.g., engineering, statistics, math, finance, economics).
