About the role
Role Overview
Contract Analytics Engineer for a retail client. You will build reliable, analytics-ready datasets that support reporting, forecasting, and customer insights.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data models in a cloud data warehouse using SQL and dbt
- Transform retail data (sales, inventory, ecommerce, customer) into analytics-ready datasets
- Develop and optimize ELT workflows and improve warehouse performance
- Define and maintain business metrics and KPIs
- Implement data testing and ensure data quality
- Partner with analytics and business teams to support dashboards and reporting
Requirements
- Strong SQL and dbt experience
- Experience with one of: Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks
- Familiarity with orchestration tools: Airflow or Dagster
- Experience supporting BI tools: Looker, Tableau, or Power BI
- Ability to ramp quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
Contract Details
- Fully remote, but must be NY-based
- 40 hours/week (full-time contract)
- Initial 6-month contract with likely extension
- No C2C or third-party contracting
