Analytics Engineer - Remote

Role Overview

Symetra is hiring an Analytics Engineer (Remote) to design and deliver high-quality data models and data marts that power analytics across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy sophisticated data models supporting multiple products and domains.
• Solve data integration challenges using effective ETL patterns, frameworks, and query techniques across structured and unstructured sources.
• Optimize data pipelines, dashboards, and systems to speed up development of data products.
• Build domain and product context to anticipate future analytics opportunities.
• Follow engineering best practices and collaborate with cross-functional partners.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, business intelligence, or a related role.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining data models and data marts for business reporting/analytics.
• Strong understanding of ETL, data integration, and transforming data from structured/unstructured sources.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python) for data analysis/engineering.
• Experience optimizing pipelines, queries, and analytics solutions for performance and scalability.
• Knowledge of data modeling best practices, data quality, and engineering standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate business needs into reliable data solutions.
• Effective communication and collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Data Analytics/IS or related field (or equivalent experience). High school diploma required.
