About the role

Role: Analytics Engineer

Own how data is structured, understood, and surfaced across Higharc’s platform—serving both customer-facing analytics and internal decision-making.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the data layer: analytics models, metric definitions, and views in tools like Looker and Observable.
  • Build and maintain scalable data models and reporting views that support customer-facing and internal analytics.
  • Partner with engineering to design and ship polished customer-facing data views for enterprise builders.
  • Work with Product & Customer Success to define metrics and build the reporting behind them.
  • Set direction for the analytics stack, including where reporting lives across the product.
  • Own data infrastructure and instrumentation decisions, including data flow between systems such as BigQuery and S3 and updates to product analytics tracking like PostHog.
  • Use data modeling, statistics, and analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in large datasets.
  • Create a triage process for incoming analytics requests so priorities are clear and the queue doesn’t stall.
  • Be the trusted owner of “what the data says.”

About You / Requirements

  • 6+ years in analytics, data science, or business intelligence, delivering end-to-end work from modeling to presentation.
  • Strong ability writing and optimizing SQL for business use cases, with solid data modeling fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with Looker or Observable (BI/visualization).
  • Experience with data warehouses/pipelines (BigQuery, S3, or equivalent) and product analytics tools (PostHog or similar).
  • Proven experience building internal and customer-facing dashboards.
  • Ability to manage fast-paced, ambiguous projects independently and with strong organization.
  • Excellent judgment for which audiences should see which data.
  • Strong communication skills: can explain models to engineers and insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Can align cross-team priorities without direct management (directing engineering work without owning the build).

Nice to Have

  • Experience delivering analytics for large enterprise customers.
  • Background in construction tech/homebuilding or other complex physical-world domains.
