Analytics Engineer

Role Overview

Coinbase is hiring an Analytics Engineer for the Compliance Data team within Platform. You will build and maintain production-grade data foundations that power every regulatory obligation, including the Compliance Data Mart (CDM)—Coinbase’s canonical source of truth for user, transaction, and compliance data.

What You’ll Do

• Own end-to-end development of production data models and pipelines for CDM (architecture through deployment and maintenance).
• Build data quality checks, data contracts, validation logic, and monitoring to protect data integrity.
• Partner with upstream engineering teams to resolve data gaps and absorb product changes at the source.
• Support live regulatory exams, audits, and ad hoc regulator requests with accurate and timely data.
• Automate recurring manual workflows into scalable pipelines and self-serve tooling for downstream teams and AI agents.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years building and maintaining production data pipelines and data models.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, dbt, and a modern data warehouse (Snowflake, Databricks, or similar).
• Experience implementing data quality frameworks: data contracts, validation logic, reconciliation, and monitoring.
• Track record supporting time-sensitive, high-stakes data needs (regulatory exams, audits, or financial reporting).
• Ability to convert tribal knowledge and recurring manual workflows into durable, documented infrastructure.
• Responsible use of generative AI, with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and improve efficiency, cost, and quality.

Compensation & Logistics

• Base salary range (annual): $152,405 – $179,300 USD (equity/bonus may also apply).
• Coinbase is remote-first, not remote-only; expect quarterly in-person “surges.”
