Role Overview

Amplify is hiring an Analytics Engineer (full remote) to help solve education-focused data challenges. You will ingest, transform, model, and aggregate data to deliver clean, accurate, reliable metrics and models for product teams and internal business partners—while respecting privacy and security needs.

Key Missions

Ingest, transform, model, and aggregate data to support teams across Amplify and customers.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and data engineers to deliver trustworthy models and metrics.
Build analytical models that support product/app design and help students understand their progress.
Provide useful insights that help school administrators while maintaining privacy and security.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain data transformations, analytical models, and aggregations.
Produce reliable metrics and data products for apps and internal stakeholders.
Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

Proven fluency in SQL, using it in code-based ETL frameworks, preferably dbt.
Understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, analytical data modeling, aggregations, and metrics.
Experience with Looker (Explore and dashboards).
Strong knowledge of analytical modeling architectures, including Kimball dimensional data modeling.
3+ years in professional software development or data engineering.
BS in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
Ability to present and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Strong foundations in computer, data, and analytics engineering.
Fluency in a development language such as Python.
Familiarity with metadata management tools such as Atlan.
Experience building dashboards/reports/models in BI tools such as Tableau or Looker.

Nice to Have

Experience with data tooling: Snowflake, AWS data services (S3, RDS, Glacier, DynamoDB), PostgreSQL.
Experience with Airflow, Fivetran, Terraform, and Looker.
Experience using LLMs for dev work (e.g., Claude or Copilot).
Passion for teaching and mentoring engineers and non-engineers.
Passion for learning and building (open source, stretch goals, self-education).
Experience in education/ed-tech.
Experience recommending standards to streamline pipeline processes.
