About the role
Role Overview
Join Affirm’s Risk & Analytics (R&A) team as an Analyst I. You’ll use data analytics to support business strategy by optimizing product, risk, and growth decisions, monitoring portfolio performance, and partnering with cross-functional teams.

- Analyze performance and identify investment opportunities to maximize impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand market regulations and requirements.
- Use advanced data analysis to optimize commercial strategies and monitor portfolio performance.
Requirements
- Strong motivation to build technical foundations and adapt to changing market conditions; interest in applying modern AI tooling.
- Solid working knowledge of SQL and Python (or other scripting languages).
- Exceptional communication skills, humility, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or another quantitative field.
- 1–3 years experience in an analytically driven role (internships and relevant experience in consumer lending/fintech/financial services are a plus).
- Basic understanding (or strong curiosity) of consumer lending regulations, fair lending principles, and how ML techniques apply to real-world problems.
- Familiarity with data mining, data visualization, and foundational statistical modeling.
Nice-to-haves
- Relevant internships or prior experience in consumer lending, fintech, or broader financial services.
