Role Overview
AI Training Engineer (Contract, Remote) Build and optimize AI training pipelines and production-grade infrastructure to support AI learning, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve datasets, model behavior, and the engineering stack.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize AI training pipelines using Python, Go, JavaScript, and Rust.
- Design, troubleshoot, and manage production-grade system builds.
- Create and manage Dockerized sandboxes and CI/CD workflows.
- Apply advanced problem-solving across filesystems, process management, and system error recovery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine datasets, model behaviors, and supporting infrastructure.
- Document technical solutions and ensure knowledge transfer and process improvements.
- Implement best practices for security, scalability, and maintainability across codebases and infrastructure.
Requirements
- Strong production experience as a Software Engineer, SRE, or DevOps Engineer.
- Expert proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, and Rust (plus familiarity with C/C++ and Bash).
- Robust experience with build systems, package managers, ML frameworks, databases, cryptography, and version control.
- Strong terminal-based workflows, including problem decomposition and dynamic replanning under constraints.
- Ability to design and maintain complex infrastructure including Docker and server administration.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Haves
- Familiarity with C/C++ and Bash.
