About the role
Role Overview
Join Standard Bots as an AI Research Engineer to develop and optimize AI models and training systems for advanced AI/robotics applications. You’ll collaborate with engineering to design, implement, and iterate on large-scale models while building infrastructure that enables fast experimentation and deployment.
Key Missions
- Design and implement state-of-the-art ML models and training pipelines for a range of robotics applications.
- Lead model development and iteration, focusing on:
- rapid experimentation
- performance optimization
- model debugging
- Collaborate on training infrastructure and deployment, ensuring efficient systems from research iteration to deployment.
Requirements
- Proven experience with ML planning in the autonomous vehicle space.
- Professional experience using diffusion and autoregressive model techniques.
- Strong understanding of modern ML architectures and training techniques.
- Ability to implement ML research papers and adapt academic methods.
- Familiarity with end-to-end pipelines: camera input → trajectory output for self-driving/robotics.
- Experience with RL (reinforcement learning).
- 5+ years of AI modeling experience in the self-driving car industry OR a PhD with 3+ years in that domain.
- Proven track record developing and deploying large-scale ML models.
- Experience with model debugging, optimization, and performance tuning.
