AI Product Strategist (New Ventures)

Role overview

Join Valon as an AI Product Strategist (New Ventures). You’ll embed with clients, translate unclear AI requests into concrete execution plans, and build and ship AI solutions yourself. This is not a consulting role—you’ll own the client relationship, plan, and outcomes while helping define a new internal function.

Key responsibilities

• Convert vague “we need AI” mandates into sequenced execution plans with clear dependencies.
• Own the client relationship, execution plan, and measurable outcomes.
• Define the operating model and engagement playbook for new ventures.
• Help shape hiring criteria for future teammates and clarify what “great” looks like.
• Drive organizational change connected to adoption and delivery.
• Build and ship production-ready AI solutions, taking projects from problem identification to working demo without support.

Requirements

• Fluency in LLM orchestration and comfort working with APIs.
• Strong ability to turn ambiguous, high-stakes problems into execution plans that can adapt as plans change.
• Credibility with executives and operators; able to gain trust quickly in environments without a Valon team around you.
• Experience building with AI (e.g., agent workflows, automations, AI-powered tools) and understanding LLM capabilities/limitations.
• Ability to choose the right approach (e.g., agent/workflow vs fine-tuned model vs prompt chain) and implement it.
• Proven experience leading complex, ambiguous initiatives end-to-end, accountable for outcomes.

• Evidence of building/leading in startups or forward-deployed environments.
