AI Product Engineer

Join Abnormal Security’s AI Transformation Engineering team as an AI Product Engineer. This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering and direct product delivery, with high visibility and autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Extend agent infrastructure by building new tools, connectors, and APIs that enhance AI agents’ capabilities.
• Ship self-service GTM tooling that enables non-technical users to set up AI-initiated LLM workflows.
• Partner with AI Product Managers to translate roadmap blockers into well-scoped engineering deliverables with reliable timelines.
• Own reliability and observability for the systems you build.
• Demo your work weekly.

Requirements

• You ship production software; you have built LLMs and agents in production (not side experiments).
• Strong product instincts (ask who it’s for and what they need) alongside engineering depth.
• Ability to move fast with care; use AI coding tools as a force multiplier.
• Motivated by ownership and velocity; prefer accountability over large ticket queues.
• Experience integrating external APIs and building data pipelines.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience (strong internships/projects considered).
• Proficiency in Python and ability to quickly learn new frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience building with LLMs, agents, or AI APIs in a real product context (something that shipped).
• Strong written communication (clear specs and async updates).
• Comfort working with high autonomy, surfacing blockers proactively.

Nice to Have

• Frontend or full-stack experience (React/Next.js) for internal tools and dashboards.
• Familiarity with agentic frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI, Autogen) and/or production-scale prompt engineering.
• Startup/high-velocity small-team experience.
• Open-source contributions or a public portfolio of AI projects.
