About the role

Role Overview

AI/MLOps Engineer (Contract-to-Hire) for a healthcare organization.

Fully remote (U.S.) with occasional quarterly travel
Build scalable ML platforms, automate deployment, and collaborate with Data Scientists to bring AI into production

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions using Microsoft Azure
Build and maintain scalable machine learning pipelines and production workflows
Deploy, monitor, and optimize ML models in production
Automate ML model deployment via CI/CD pipelines
Partner with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to operationalize models
Develop AI-powered capabilities such as:
- NLP, recommendation engines, sentiment analysis
- image recognition, and chatbot solutions
Implement and use Azure services including Azure AI Services, Azure Machine Learning, and Azure Cognitive Services
Use containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Monitor performance and manage updates and retraining
Ensure ML environments meet security and compliance requirements
Improve scalability, reliability, and performance of AI platforms

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years software development/engineering experience
3+ years delivering end-to-end ML projects, including recent hands-on MLOps
Strong Microsoft Azure experience
Experience with Azure Machine Learning and Azure AI Services
Strong programming skills: Python (preferred), Java, or Scala
Experience deploying ML models into production
Hands-on Docker and Kubernetes
Experience implementing CI/CD for ML solutions

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with MLflow or Kubeflow
Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn
Background in NLP
Experience building enterprise AI applications / production-grade ML platforms
Familiarity with Azure Bot Services and Azure Cognitive Services
