Role Overview

AI First Product Owner at Nymbus, a remote-first fintech platform company. This role owns product intent and system behavior, creating implementation-ready specifications while collaborating closely with engineering. It sits at the intersection of product, design, engineering, and AI.

Responsibilities

Product Design and Specification

Own end-to-end product design from problem definition through system behavior and user experience
Write clear, testable, implementation-ready specifications
Define APIs, data models, and interaction patterns with engineering
Use AI tools to rapidly iterate on designs, edge cases, and alternative approaches

AI First Development

Use AI to generate and refine product and technical specifications
Prototype and validate solutions before committing to implementation
Collaborate hands-on with development to push beyond requirements
Support implementation workflows across front end and back end as needed

Engineering Collaboration

Partner with engineering on API design, data modeling, and system architecture
Participate in technical design discussions and tradeoffs
Reduce ambiguity and rework via high-quality inputs and shared context

Domain Ownership (Fintech Systems)

Apply expertise in one or more domains such as:
- Core Banking (accounts, posting models, settlement, data integrity)
- Digital Banking (account opening, onboarding, KYC/CIP, UX)
- Lending (loan lifecycle, servicing, payments, exception handling)
- Payments & Cards (transaction flows, authorization/settlement, integration patterns)

Requirements

5+ years in product roles in fintech, banking, or financial services
Experience with core banking or digital banking platforms
Strong understanding of complex, regulated financial workflows
Proven ability to design systems/workflows (not just capture requirements)
Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams
Technical fluency with REST APIs, data modeling, and system interactions
Familiarity with front-end concepts and UX behavior
Ability to translate product intent into system design
AI-first mindset: curiosity, hands-on experience with AI-assisted workflows, and willingness to experiment

Nice-to-Haves

Experience using AI tools such as Kiro and Claude (explicitly referenced in the posting)
