AI-First Product Owner

Role Overview

AI-First Product Owner at Nymbus. This role sits at the intersection of product, design, engineering, and AI—with an emphasis on design-first, specification-first product ownership. You’ll help redefine how products are built, not just run ceremonies or manage backlogs.

Responsibilities

Product Design & Specification

• Own end-to-end product design from problem definition through system behavior and user experience.
• Author clear, testable, implementation-ready specifications.
• Define APIs, data models, and interaction patterns with engineering.
• Use AI tools to iterate quickly on designs, edge cases, and alternative approaches.

AI-First Development

• Use AI to generate and refine product and technical specifications.
• Prototype and validate solutions before committing to implementation.
• Collaborate hands-on with development across the software development lifecycle.
• Support implementation workflows across front end and back end when needed.

Engineering Collaboration

• Partner closely with engineering on API design, data modeling, and system architecture.
• Participate in technical design discussions and tradeoff decisions.
• Reduce ambiguity and rework through high-quality inputs and shared context.

Domain Ownership (Fintech Systems)

Apply expertise in one or more of:

• Core Banking: account structures, posting models, settlement processes, data integrity
• Digital Banking: account opening, onboarding, KYC/CIP, UX design
• Lending: loan lifecycles, servicing logic, payments, exception handling
• Payments & Cards: transaction flows, authorization/settlement, integration patterns

Requirements

• 5+ years in product roles within fintech/banking/financial services.
• Experience with core banking and/or digital banking platforms.
• Strong understanding of regulated environments and financial workflows.
• Proven ability to design systems/workflows (not only write requirements).
• Experience collaborating closely with engineering on technical solutions.

Technical Fluency

• Understanding of REST APIs, data modeling, and system interactions.
• Familiarity with front-end and UX behavior.
• Ability to translate product intent into system design and engage in technical discussions.

AI-First Mindset

• Curiosity and hands-on experience with AI-assisted workflows.
• Willingness to experiment with tools and rethink traditional product practices.
