AI Engineering Intern (Remote)

Join Homebase as an AI Engineering Intern to collaborate with internal teams on workflow mapping, automation opportunities, and AI-powered solutions.

Key Missions

Collaborate with internal teams to map workflows, identify pain points, and propose automation opportunities.
Design, prototype, and ship end-to-end AI automations, applying language models to real commercial workflows.
Measure impact rigorously and ship improvements that influence metrics such as:
- representative conversation time
- ticket deviation
- operational efficiency

Requirements / Profile

Comfortable working in ambiguity, learning new systems quickly, and partnering with non-technical stakeholders.
Curiosity and enthusiasm for AI-first engineering, including hands-on experimentation with LLMs, agents, or automation tooling.
Product mindset: break down problems, scope solutions, and iterate quickly using user feedback.
Experience with one or more of:
- Python
- JavaScript/TypeScript
- React (via coursework, personal projects, hackathons, or open-source)
Strong communication skills for pairing with business partners and demoing work.
Passion for helping small businesses.

Location / Hybrid Expectation

Must be able to collaborate in the San Francisco office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (hybrid expectation for hub-based roles).
