AI Engineer

Role Overview

Join Fieldguide as an AI Engineer to build the intelligence layer that powers enterprise-grade AI agents. You’ll implement agentic workflows, integrate LLMs and tools, and help monitor agents in production while partnering with senior engineers and product teams.

Key Missions

• Build and ship AI agents by implementing agentic workflows to automate complex tasks.
• Use AI tools to accelerate design, development, and testing; prototype quickly.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and product to define and deliver features, translating customer workflows into engineering requirements.

Requirements

• 1–3 years shipping production software in real-world systems.
• Attention to detail for code quality and customer-facing outputs.
• Comfortable working in ambiguity, guided by senior engineers.
• Bias to building: move fast and resolve uncertainty by shipping.
• Curiosity and learning velocity to ramp up on new problems and technologies.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to LLM APIs and AI tooling (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini).
• Familiarity with retrieval pipelines, RAG concepts, or vector databases.
• React and Postgres experience.
