AI Engineer (Agentic Systems & Backend)

Role overview

Join Landbot as an AI Engineer (Agentic Systems & Backend) to help define and build the next generation of agentic AI systems. You will design production-grade architectures for autonomous agents, multi-agent collaboration, planning, decision-making, and execution.

Key missions

• Co-define the technical vision for agentic systems: autonomous agents, multi-agent collaboration, planning, decision-making, and execution.
• Design and build production agentic systems, including:
  • Context engineering
  • Memory strategies
  • Tool use and function calling
• Integrate LLMs into backend systems via clear APIs, contracts, and robust failure modes.
• Ensure reliability and observability of LLM-powered systems.
• Mentor engineers and participate in architectural reviews.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, and Design teams.

Requirements

• Senior-level profile combining strong backend engineering with hands-on experience building LLM-powered systems.
• Proven experience shipping LLM features/systems to production (not only prototypes/demos).
• Product-minded approach focused on real users and outcomes.
• Hands-on experience with agentic architectures/workflows and Context Engineering.
• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Ability to operate in ambiguity and help shape problems, not only execute predefined tasks.
• Practical understanding of the lifecycle: experimentation → evaluation → deployment → monitoring.
• Experience designing evaluation frameworks for LLM systems.
• Familiarity with modern LLMs/providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and/or open-source) and their trade-offs in quality, latency, and cost.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Eligibility to work in Spain.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with RAG, memory/context strategies, and evaluation frameworks at production scale.
