About the role
Role Overview
Applied AI Engineer responsible for building and expanding AI-powered product features in a production SaaS environment. You’ll develop practical generative AI capabilities that improve customer experiences with measurable value in production—focused on application delivery rather than research or foundation-model development.
Responsibilities
- Build and enhance AI-powered product features with engineering and product teams
- Write, refine, and optimize prompts to improve AI response quality and feature performance
- Develop Python backend services and APIs to support AI workflows
- Work with structured data in PostgreSQL and vector-based data systems used by AI applications
- Implement features within FastAPI-based application environments
- Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and experimentation
- Participate in technical discussions on AI feature architecture and implementation
Success Criteria
- Deliver meaningful AI-powered features within the first 60–90 days
- Improve usability, reliability, and quality of AI-generated capabilities
- Contribute effectively in sprint-based development
- Balance speed with quality, reliability, and maintainability
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software engineering
- Strong Python development experience
- Proven proficiency using AI-powered coding tools (e.g., Anthropic Claude Code preferred)
- Experience building backend services / REST APIs
- Experience integrating LLM APIs / generative AI services into production applications
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills
- Ability to collaborate in cross-functional engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications
- FastAPI or similar backend frameworks
- Prompt evaluation / LLM testing methodologies
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into production SaaS
- Experience in fintech or B2B SaaS environments
