As an Agile Practitioner, Digital Products at Black & Veatch, you will own the training, implementation, and adoption of Agile practices across software design and development teams delivering digital products.
You will operationalize the Digital Product Operating Model (DPOM) by:
- Establishing fit-for-purpose ways of working
- Coaching product and engineering teams
- Measuring outcomes to improve value delivery, predictability, and resilience
Key Responsibilities
Process Leadership and Governance
- Translate DPOM principles into delivery frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, multi-track discovery/delivery, scaling patterns) tailored to product context.
- Define lightweight, auditable controls that improve outcomes without adding friction.
- Establish and maintain an operating playbook (rituals, roles, artifacts, checklists, and decision cadences) across ideation/discovery, build/validate/pilot, launch, and scale.
- Partner with PMO/Governance to align planning and sequencing with investment guardrails, stage gates/exit criteria, and portfolio rhythms.
Training, Enablement, and Coaching
- Design and deliver role-based training for Product Managers/Owners, Scrum Masters, Tech Leads, Designers, QE, SRE, and stakeholders.
- Build onboarding paths and curriculum for new teams.
- Provide hands-on coaching across key agile ceremonies and practices (e.g., stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint/PI planning, reviews/demos, retros, flow-of-work management).
- Mentor individuals and teams to uplift execution quality and continuous improvement.
Outcomes and Measurement
- Ensure the right artifacts, ceremonies, and metrics are in place from ideation through launch and scale.
- Measure and drive improvements in value delivery, predictability, and resilience at scale.
Requirements
- Experience translating operating models into practical agile delivery systems (behaviors, artifacts, metrics).
- Strong ability to coach multiple roles (product, engineering, design, QA, SRE) on agile and lean delivery practices.
Nice-to-Haves
- Familiarity with DPOM-like operating models and lean product discovery.
- Experience working across governance/portfolio planning and stage-gate or exit-criteria frameworks.
