Agile Coach

Role overview

Montefiore Einstein Technology is seeking a senior Agile Coach to guide individuals, teams, and leaders across the Montefiore IT organization in adopting and continuously improving Agile practices. This role will help build and sustain a culture of agility and will work closely with Scrum Masters, Product Managers, development teams, and senior leadership as part of the Agile Center of Excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing coaching to Agile teams and individuals to promote Agile principles, practices, and continuous improvement.
• Facilitate and lead Agile ceremonies (e.g., planning, reviews, retrospectives) and support Agile team mobilization.
• Guide teams in using meaningful Agile metrics (e.g., Cycle Time, velocity, Backlog health, Predictability) for continuous improvement.
• Deliver training workshops and coaching programs for teams, leaders, and stakeholder groups.
• Mentor Scrum Masters and Product Managers/Owners to grow internal coaching capacity and improve team maturity.
• Support performance management for Scrum Masters to drive growth and development.
• Partner with IT and business leadership to align Agile execution with strategic goals and delivery outcomes.
• Help teams improve collaboration, dependency management, and program-level coordination across functions.
• Shift teams and leadership from project-centric to product- and value-driven thinking.
• Build and sustain Agile Communities of Practice to drive knowledge sharing and culture change.

Requirements

• 7–9 years coaching or enterprise Agile transformation experience.
• Strong facilitation and mentoring experience coaching teams, leaders, and Agile roles.
• Experience with multiple delivery models, including Agile, Lean, Kanban, and traditional.
• Strong communication and influence across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Deep knowledge of Agile principles and delivery practices, including Scrum, Kanban, and Lean.
• Recent experience with Jira/Confluence Cloud.
• Experience coaching teams and leaders in an Agile environment.
• Facilitation of Agile ceremonies and workshops.
• Change management/transformation leadership.
• Stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
• Experience with Agile performance metrics and “information radiator” practices.
• Conflict resolution and understanding of team dynamics.
• Product/value-driven delivery mindset and continuous improvement.
• High-proficiency communication across levels.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).

Nice to have

• Agile-related certifications (plus, not required).
• Epic experience (mentioned as a target/skill).
