About the role
Role Overview
The Agile Coach will support an NYC client by guiding product teams, leaders, and stakeholders through enterprise Agile adoption and transformation initiatives across MTA-IT. This consultative role strengthens delivery practices, cross-functional collaboration, continuous improvement, and alignment between product outcomes and business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Coach, mentor, and guide product teams, leaders, and stakeholders through Agile adoption and transformation across MTA-IT
- Promote Agile principles and practices to enable large-scale transformation and improve enterprise Agile maturity
- Coach teams on Agile frameworks and delivery methods, including Scrum and Kanban
- Facilitate Agile training sessions, workshops, ceremonies, and ongoing team coaching activities
- Partner cross-functionally to strengthen collaboration, improve delivery practices, and align outcomes to business objectives
- Implement Agile best practices, tools, and continuous improvement approaches across product teams
- Use delivery and performance metrics to support decision-making and identify improvement opportunities
- Operate consultatively to influence teams and leaders without direct managerial authority while supporting broader MTA-IT strategy
Mandatory Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of software development experience
- At least 8 years of Agile coaching experience
- Proven experience coaching Agile product transformations in large, complex environments
- Demonstrated hands-on leadership of enterprise-wide Agile transformation initiatives
- Strong background in change management, organizational design, and cultural transformation at scale
- Hands-on knowledge of Agile frameworks and delivery practices (including Scrum and Kanban)
- Experience facilitating Agile training sessions, workshops, and continuous improvement activities
- Ability to use Agile metrics to improve decision-making and team performance
Certification / Education Requirements
- Certified Agile Coach (ICP-ACC or ICP-ATF) or
- Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or
- SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) or equivalent
Contract Details
- Location: NY - Remote for East Coast
- Duration: 12 months (potential extension)
- Start date: 10/01/2026
- Compensation: W2 hourly rate $62–$72/hour (exempt position; salary commensurate with experience)
