About the role
Role Overview
Join Affirm Bank as a Senior Manager (Controller) during a period of growth. As Bank Controller, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the Affirm Bank Accounting Team, strengthen regulatory reporting, oversee audits, and drive accounting and reporting automation.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including G/L and daily operational flows
- Oversee monthly financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, ensuring timely submission
- Build and run a controlled regulatory reporting function for accurate and timely filings (e.g., FFIEC 041 Call Reports, Part 363 Annual Reports)
- Manage audit processes
- Drive accounting and reporting automation through improved tools and processes
- Build and lead the bank accounting team
- Serve as a primary liaison with cross-functional teams
- Manage additional financial analysis and special projects
Requirements
- 10+ years relevant experience in Accounting, Finance, or Treasury-related areas
- 5+ years of people management experience
- Accounting designation such as CPA or CA
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting
- Proven analysis, cash management, and modeling experience
- Experience building tools/processes and scaling an accounting team in a similar industry
- Extremely detail-oriented; strong critical thinking
