Accounting Manager

Role Overview

Interim Accounting Manager (Sr. Accountant functional) for a 6-month leave-coverage engagement in a complex multi-channel ecommerce business. The role is 100% remote and focuses on senior-level support for month-end close and special projects, with strong judgment and structured processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead key areas of the monthly close: prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, and related general ledger activity
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to maintain accuracy and consistency
• Manage accounting for designated business lines, primarily eCommerce and healthcare
• Support a separate healthcare entity, including reserve balances and receivables tracking
• Partner with the accounting team to resolve debits/credits and other transaction issues impacting reporting
• Assist with audit readiness and financial statement support (documentation and responses to accounting requests)
• Use NetSuite and advanced Excel to analyze data, maintain records, and improve reporting efficiency
• Improve processes by identifying opportunities to automate spreadsheets and journal entry workflows using AI-enabled tools

Requirements

• 10+ years of accounting experience, including significant ownership of month-end close and general ledger management
• Strong skills in account reconciliations, journal entry review, and audit support in mid-sized or large organizations
• Hands-on NetSuite experience
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookup functions)
• Knowledge of accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and core corporate accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field preferred
