Accounting Manager (GL Operations & Intercompany)

Role Overview

Join Coinbase as an Accounting Manager (GL Operations & Intercompany) supporting the Controllership team. You will own end-to-end month-end close activities and oversee Coinbase’s global intercompany framework and general ledger (GL) operations, driving operational excellence through cross-functional partnership and GL projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and consolidated reporting.
• Ensure the integrity of global consolidation, accuracy of the general ledger, and scalability of the financial infrastructure.
• Lead global intercompany operations, including invoicing, cash settlement, and transfer pricing execution.
• Design, implement, and document internal controls aligned with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements for GL and intercompany processes.
• Drive GL operational excellence and execute strategic GL-related initiatives.

Requirements

• CPA with 6+ years of accounting/finance experience; includes 2+ years managing direct reports.
• Public accounting experience preferred (e.g., Big 4).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong applied knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX 404 implementation/documentation.
• SQL proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems (preferred: NetSuite).
• Experience using analytics tools such as Snowflake or Looker (or similar).
• Experience managing month-end close across multiple entities.
• Experience leading multi-entity intercompany accounting (e.g., eliminations, FX revaluation, global consolidations).

• Experience in fintech or crypto environments.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency and output quality.
