Accounting Manager (Full Remote)

Join Fieldguide as an Accounting Manager to scale the accounting function. You’ll own key parts of the monthly close, manage major accounting areas, improve workflows and controls, and support audits and compliance.

Responsibilities

Own significant areas of the monthly close, including:
- Journal entries
- Reconciliations
- Accruals
- Variance analysis
- Financial reporting
Manage accounting for key areas including:
- Revenue
- Accounts receivable
- Payroll
- Commissions
- Operating expenses
- Prepaids
- Fixed assets
Build processes and controls to improve accuracy while avoiding unnecessary complexity
Use AI and automation to reduce manual work
Support audits and compliance requirements
Review and manage contracts

Requirements

5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong critical thinking and ability to spot when transactions/processes/results don’t make sense
Experience managing a monthly close
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Experience with revenue recognition and issues common to subscription software / SaaS
Ability to independently research problems, develop a point of view, and drive resolution
Clear communication skills and cross-team collaboration
Comfort working in an environment where processes may need to be created or improved
Experience using AI tools in day-to-day work (or strong curiosity to apply them)

Nice to Haves

Experience improving or automating accounting processes in a scaling organization
Experience with Rillet
CPA and/or public accounting experience
