Accountant

Role Overview

Accountant (Senior/Staff) at Soligent, supporting the Finance team in a remote, fast-paced environment. You will translate business activity into accurate financial reporting and communicate insights across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, variance analysis, and ensuring entries are properly recorded
• Support integrity of accounting policies and the financial statements (review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences)
• Collaborate with the accounting team and cross-functional teams to ensure proper accounting for transactions such as:
  • Accruals and reserves
  • Prepaid positions
  • Fixed assets
  • Right-of-use assets
• Conduct monthly reconciliations (e.g., inventory, freight, bad debt, rebates, taxes)
• Prepare schedules and information to support internal and external audits
• Handle intercompany reconciliations, cross charges, and elimination entries
• Run the trial balance and analyze GL accounts to ensure they are accurate and complete during close
• Support cash management, including working with the bank and assisting with cash forecasting
• Apply solid knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
• Support training/onboarding of new team members and documenting processes
• Manage sales tax certificates in SOVOS and complete related tax account reconciliations
• Ensure fixed assets are properly accounted for

Requirements

• Solid working knowledge of GAAP
• Strong close, reconciliation, and journal-entry skills
• High attention to detail, ownership mindset, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Process improvement and clear communication of financial information

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting audits (internal and external)
• Experience with sales tax certificate management tools (e.g., SOVOS) and intercompany accounting
