About the role
Role Overview
The Account Manager (AM) is responsible for day-to-day management of an assigned book of business. You act as the primary point of contact for benefit-related service needs and partner with internal service teams and client-facing leadership to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the assigned book of business
- Provide client advisory support and delegate work to internal service team members
- Coordinate with Benefits Consultants and/or Client Executives to manage the full renewal process
- Handle day-to-day client issues and serve as main contact
- Conduct needs analysis and strategy calls
- Run enrollment meetings as needed
- Conduct regular face-to-face client meetings
- Advise clients on reducing costs while offering competitive benefit options
- Assist with Form 5500 filings (as applicable)
- Support book growth through cross-sale opportunities when available
- Build relationships via proactive communications
- Communicate and educate clients on industry trends, concerns, and changes
- Manage complex accounts and high-level service deliverables within the extended service team
Requirements

Experience & Qualifications
- 3+ years in account management or a consultative role (required)
- Prior experience in a broker agency or benefit administration firm (required)
- Current Life and Health license (required)
- Thorough knowledge of health and ancillary products (required)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (required)
- Familiarity with quoting process and tools (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Experience with database applications (plus)
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range (nationwide): $55,000–$65,000/year
- Base pay depends on skills, education, qualifications, experience, and location
- Some roles may be eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus
- Benefits include health/wellbeing, retirement, other financial benefits, paid time off, and overtime for non-exempt roles
