About the role

Role overview

Account Manager (Academia) for a remote-first, growth-stage company in VR healthcare education. Own renewals and drive expansion across a portfolio of academic institutions, protecting and growing ARR through structured renewal motion, account planning, and value-led negotiations.

Key missions

  • Manage the end-to-end renewal process for an academic institutional portfolio to meet revenue targets
  • Identify, qualify, and close upsell and cross-sell opportunities to increase revenue
  • Build strong executive relationships with stakeholders at academic institutions and lead commercial negotiations
  • Run proactive renewal risk management and ensure disciplined commercial execution

Responsibilities

  • Protect and grow ARR through account strategy and structured renewal cycles
  • Lead pricing and negotiations as part of renewal and expansion deals
  • Communicate value to senior stakeholders and defend pricing
  • Maintain strong pipeline management and forecasting; develop and execute plans to hit targets

Requirements

  • 3+ years in quota-carrying B2B Account Management focused on renewals + expansion in healthcare or healthcare academia SaaS
  • Proven experience managing renewals end-to-end, including pricing and negotiation
  • Demonstrated record of achieving or exceeding 100%+ NRR targets
  • Comfort in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and dealing with long buying cycles
  • Experience selling into academic institutions (universities, nursing schools, medical schools)
  • Strong CRM and forecasting discipline, ideally with HubSpot

Nice to haves

  • Familiarity with healthcare education, clinical training, simulation, or adjacent markets
  • Experience navigating procurement, IT review, and contracting processes common in academia
  • Travel and relationship-based selling in the field
  • No prior VR experience required (OMS will train on its platform and products)
