About the role

Accessibility Software Engineer (Remote, Contract)

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Accessibility Software Engineer to design and develop scalable healthcare SaaS solutions with strong accessibility expertise.

Responsibilities

Build inclusive, user-friendly web applications compliant with Section 508 and WCAG standards.
Contribute to frontend and backend development (React/TypeScript + Java/.NET stack).
Lead technical design discussions, architecture planning, and whiteboarding sessions.
Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
Develop and integrate APIs, web services, and enterprise system integrations.
Support data migrations, system configuration, and data analysis tasks.
Participate in release management, bug triage, and production support.
Assist with UAT preparation/execution and resolve issues.
Ensure secure handling of sensitive healthcare data (PHI/PII) in compliance with policies.
Work with clients to understand requirements and propose optimal technical solutions.

Requirements

Significant experience building full-stack applications using .NET or Java.
Strong accessibility knowledge with WCAG and Section 508.
Experience with CI/CD and testing.
Proficiency with React and TypeScript.
Experience with Java/J2EE technologies.
Familiarity with Jenkins, Bitbucket, and JUnit.

Preferred / Role Focus

Senior level engineering experience.
Healthcare SaaS experience is a plus (role is focused on healthcare SaaS solutions).
