#127306 - UX Designer

Role

Hands-on UX Designer to improve messaging experiences across mobile apps and desktop web for multiple user groups. You will help design AI-powered messaging features and enhance how users understand conversation status, respond effectively, and re-engage when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end product experiences across mobile and desktop web.
• Create wireframes, user journeys, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
• Design UX for AI-powered messaging features.
• Improve communication responsiveness via:
  • reply prompts
  • expectation setting
  • status transparency
  • re-engagement patterns
• Simplify complex, data-heavy workflows, including search, filtering, and data export.
• Apply and extend an existing design system (components, patterns, visual standards).
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, UX Research, and Legal.
• Incorporate qualitative research and user feedback into design iterations.
• Support validation through qualitative research and A/B testing.
• Produce clear design specifications and engineering handoff materials.
• Work independently, manage assigned design work, and ramp quickly with minimal oversight.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional product UX design experience.
• Portfolio showing end-to-end UX and complex product workflows.
• Strong interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and user-journey design skills.
• Experience designing complex workflows and data-heavy enterprise products.
• Experience with search, filtering, data export, or similar interaction patterns.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, Research, and Legal stakeholders.
• Ability to incorporate UX research findings and feedback into designs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Recent hands-on experience as an individual contributor.

Nice to Have

• Experience designing messaging/inbox/communications/notifications.
• Accessibility knowledge (e.g., WCAG and assistive technologies).
• Experience designing international/localized products; Japanese market experience.
• Mobile-first product design experience.
• Experience supporting A/B testing/experimentation.
• Prior contractor or embedded-team experience in a large product org.
• Experience designing AI-enabled product features.

Tools / Engagement

• Strong, current Figma proficiency (including interactive prototypes).
• Experience with design-to-engineering handoff in a design-system workflow.
• Remote contract (full-time, 40 hours/week) with availability aligned to U.S. Central Time.
• Contract expected through March 31, 2027.
• Must be located in the United States.
