About the role
Role Overview
Tech Lead (AI) — 100% Remote. You will lead end-to-end delivery of complex initiatives and provide strong architectural direction for large distributed systems, while collaborating closely with offshore teams. This is not a formal team-lead role, but you will drive technical execution and decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and collaborate with offshore teams to deliver projects end-to-end
- Work with product teams to gather requirements and translate them into engineering solutions
- Design scalable systems and microservice architectures
- Break down work into clear, actionable tasks and drive delivery
- Articulate system designs, trade-offs, and technical decisions to large technical audiences
- Address non-functional requirements such as:
- scaling, monitoring, operations
- load and performance testing
- code quality and long-term maintenance
- Communicate clearly with concise, on-topic answers; ask clarifying questions when needed
Requirements
- Lead experience with onshore and offshore teams
- Strong expertise in large distributed system design
- Experience designing microservices and building services using REST APIs
- Experience with distributed messaging systems such as Kafka
- Demonstrated distributed systems experience in sizable teams
- Strong logical/problem-solving ability (e.g., LeetCode medium)
- Basic awareness of LLMs and the Generative AI space
- Ability to provide sufficient time-zone overlap with the onsite team in a fast-paced environment
Nice-to-haves
- Training/exposure to GenAI / Agentic AI
- Python proficiency (training in Python is a plus)
- Experience with non-functional/operational practices, potentially leveraging AI for self-productivity
- Familiarity with .NET or Java
