VP Data Engineering
Role Overview
Lead the data engineering function as VP, overseeing ~15 engineers across 3 teams. You'll own the architecture, reliability, and evolution of the company's GCP-based data platform that powers consumer spending analytics for financial services clients.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data engineers
- Build a culture of ownership, craft, and continuous improvement
- Own hiring, onboarding, and performance management
- Set high technical standards while remaining approachable and supportive
Data Platform & Infrastructure
- Own architecture, reliability, and evolution of GCP data platform (BigQuery, Cloud Composer/Airflow, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, GCS)
- Design and maintain robust, scalable pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and serving diverse alternative datasets (web, CPG, transaction data, etc.)
- Drive infrastructure best practices
- Ensure data pipeline reliability, scalability, and quality meet financial services standards
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with data operations, product, and commercial teams
- Enable continuous ingestion, processing, and delivery of alternative datasets at scale
