Role Overview
A remote Aerospace Systems Security Engineer position with Belcan supporting cyber-physical embedded systems related to engine controls for airborne platforms. This is a full-time, direct position with full benefits.
Responsibilities
- Determine technology and processes required to meet product security requirements against cyber threats
- Support implementation of secure cyber-resilient systems (SCRS) for customer programs, including task planning, requirements development, derivation, implementation, risk assessments, and product lifecycle deliverables
- Review existing product designs and development plans for security-related work scope gaps and contract requirement compliance
- Develop and communicate Product Security best practices to product and design teams to enable adoption and implementation
- Coordinate with the Product Security capability team to improve techniques, policies, procedures, and knowledge for best practices across the business
- Collaborate with customers, clients, supply chain partners, and industry experts to enhance Product Security capability and tools
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required due to nature of work performed
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or STEM discipline (Electrical, Systems, Controls, or equivalent) with 6+ years' experience, OR Master's degree with 4+ years' experience
- Knowledge of embedded systems and technical skills to develop, implement, and secure such systems
- Experience applying systems security policies and standards (RMF, NIST SP 800-160, DO-326, DoDI 5000.83)
- Knowledge of program management lifecycle, processes, procedures, and best practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and non-verbal)
- Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic hybrid environment with virtual teams
- Ability to travel periodically up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with industry standards (DO-326A, DO-355) and certification project artifact development
- Experience or interest in product security, cybersecurity, and cyber threats
- Experience with project management concepts (earned value management, process change management, configuration management, data analysis)
- Experience with Sharpcloud and MS Azure DevOps
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Outcome-focused problem-solving abilities
