Staff SDET

Role Overview

Staff SDET (Senior Software Development Engineer in Test) responsible for working as an individual contributor and quality engineering leader within a software development scrum team. This role involves guiding and collaborating with SDETs and Test Engineers across the entire spectrum of test automation and white-box testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated test suites for the full tech stack including UI, API, Microservices, and Database
• Guide SDETs in at least one functional area to enhance, optimize, and stabilize automated test suites
• Implement coding guidelines, peer reviews, git workflow, CI/CD processes, and quality gates based on best practices
• Actively participate in technical specification and code reviews with architects and developers
• Promote quality engineering processes, practices, and standards across teams
• Perform functional and regression tests, analyze results, and report defects efficiently
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing and deployment
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint grooming, planning, demos, and retros
• Design and document comprehensive test strategies, testing guidelines, and standard operating procedures
• Triage customer issues and provide root cause analysis with recommendations for system hardening
• Mentor SDETs and Associates, serving as SME for multiple application areas
• Oversee a small group of SDETs, ensuring adherence to SOPs and design guidelines
• Lead maintenance of test environments and test data creation

Required Experience & Education

• Minimum 8 years of related experience; or 6 years with an advanced degree
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, physics, math, statistics, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
