Staff Product Designer (Multiple Roles, Multiple Teams)

Overview

Wealthsimple is hiring Staff Product Designers across multiple product areas including Investing, Banking, and Asset Expansion. Design is a strategic lever at the company—designers help shape what gets built, not just make things beautiful.

Responsibilities

• Design thoughtful, high-impact product experiences that empower clients to make smarter financial decisions
• Partner closely with product, engineering, content, and research throughout the entire product development process
• Own the full design stack — from early discovery and prototyping to high-fidelity visuals and micro-interactions
• Conduct research and use data to understand client needs, identify opportunities, and inform design decisions
• Help evolve the design system and scale the product with consistency, craft, and intention
• Raise the bar for quality and clarity — not just in your own work, but across the team

Requirements

• Experience designing for consumer-facing mobile apps (React Native, native iOS/Android)
• Strong UX and visual design skills with ability to turn complex problems into simple, elegant experiences
• User-first mindset and strong product sense — knowing when to sweat details and when to move quickly
• Collaborative approach and clear communication style
• Experience working closely with product and engineering teams to ship real products
• Passion for personal finance and interest in banking, investing, or financial planning tools

Staff Designer-Specific Requirements

• Experience leading large initiatives and driving design quality and strategy at a higher level
• Track record of mentoring others and elevating team capabilities

Nice-to-Haves

• Background in fintech or financial services design
• Understanding of design system best practices at scale
