About the role

Role Overview

As a Staff Product Data Analyst, you'll leverage data to drive strategic decision-making and optimize product performance for the Growth product line (focused on making products self-serve from trial to conversion). You'll be integral to the Product Insights department, working directly with the Director/VP of Product and reporting to the Data Analytics manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • KPI Strategy: Identify and establish core Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that align with business objectives and provide a clear framework for evaluating product performance and success
  • Data Culture: Guide and empower product teams with advanced methodologies and analytical tools; provide training to foster data-driven decision-making
  • Experimentation: Shape experimentation strategy by designing A/B tests, establishing testing guidelines, aligning success metrics across teams, validating technical setup, tracking performance, and interpreting results
  • Performance Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of product performance metrics and user behavior to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
  • Customer Insights: Partner with Product Research to maintain a 360-degree customer knowledge view, identify gaps, and proactively influence product roadmap discussions
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work directly with the Director of Product and support the Growth product line across all functions

Required Skills & Experience

  • Data Analysis Expertise: Proficiency in statistical analysis, data modeling, and data visualization
  • Technical Tools: Advanced experience with SQL, DBT, Excel, Tableau, or similar data analysis and visualization software
  • Data Interpretation: Ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into actionable insights
  • Visualization: Create advanced data visualizations, dashboards, and interactive reports that communicate insights to broad audiences
  • Problem-Solving: Identify issues, analyze root causes, develop effective solutions with critical thinking
  • Data Integrity: Meticulous attention to accuracy; validate findings thoroughly and maintain high standards in reporting
  • Communication: Convey complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders; strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaboration: Experience working in cross-functional teams (product managers, engineers, designers) with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously; experience with project management tools and methodologies
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of business strategy and how data-driven insights support product and business goals
  • Education: Business or engineering degree
  • Prior Experience: Proven background as a data analyst
