Role Overview
The Senior Manager of Enterprise Architecture will define and enforce architecture standards, governance processes, and modernization strategies across Mazda's enterprise. This leader will serve as a bridge between business strategy, technology execution, and risk management, guiding the company's evolution from legacy systems to a modern, cloud-first, data-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Architecture Development (30%)
- Design and govern Mazda's enterprise technology blueprint, establishing architecture standards, reusable patterns, and governance processes
- Establish enterprise-architecture practices, including decision-rights models, architecture maturity metrics, and standard review cadences
- Define and maintain capability models and reference architectures across business and IT portfolios
- Define, maintain, and communicate enterprise architecture vision and multi-year roadmaps across business, data, application, and technology domains
- Align architectural initiatives with Mazda's strategic objectives and CIO priorities
- Lead enterprise architecture review boards and establish decision-making frameworks
- Drive modernization of technology ecosystem, transitioning from legacy platforms to secure, hybrid-cloud environment with Microsoft Azure focus
- Collaborate with global business leaders across manufacturing, sales, and aftersales
Connected Vehicle & Data Strategy (25%)
- Define and govern Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) reference architecture, including OTA lifecycle, in-vehicle software updates, telemetry ingestion, and API management
- Collaborate with R&D and Data teams to enable predictive maintenance, personalization, and monetization use cases
- Establish secure, scalable data pipelines for real-time insights across customer and dealer experiences
- Define enterprise data and integration frameworks covering software lifecycle management, cloud-to-car integration, and cybersecurity
- Architect and optimize modern mobile car app platforms as digital extensions of vehicles
- Partner with R&D, data science, and external technology partners to unlock commercial value of connected-vehicle data
Cloud & Digital Manufacturing Enablement (20%)
- Lead design and governance of Mazda's Azure enterprise platform, including landing zones, identity management, networking, data-lakehouse integration, and cost optimization
- Implement Microsoft CAF guardrails and DevSecOps standards across Azure workloads
- Define hybrid/edge patterns to connect factory, vehicle, and enterprise data
- Architect IT/OT convergence frameworks for secure integration
Requirements
- Strategic thinking and architectural leadership experience
- Enterprise architecture and cloud platform expertise (particularly Microsoft Azure)
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards and cybersecurity regulations
- Experience with connected vehicle platforms and SDV concepts
- Data strategy and governance experience
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to translate business objectives into technology roadmaps
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with manufacturing and OT environments
- Knowledge of vehicle software lifecycle and OTA updates
- Familiarity with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework
- Experience with digital transformation in automotive sector
