About the role

Role Overview

Senior Frontend / Full-Stack Engineer for the Stays & Packages team, which focuses on accommodation and bundled travel experiences including hotels, alternative stays, and packages combining flights, cars, and lodging. This role shapes how lodging and package booking experiences scale across multiple partner portals worldwide.

Responsibilities

Work with top-tier engineers in a low-process, trust-based environment
Drive decisions and consensus asynchronously with thoughtful documentation
Build new features end-to-end, from UX to database
Architect scalable frontend solutions for efficiently launching new partner portals
Collaborate with Product and business partners to define and refine roadmap
Optimize frontend performance (lazy loading, code-splitting, caching, Lighthouse optimizations)
Work on complex product flows in e-commerce, travel, marketplace, and fintech contexts
Balance shipping product features with long-term platform thinking
Collaborate cross-functionally and participate in code/design reviews

Required Skills & Experience

Deep expertise in React with modern patterns: functional components, hooks, performance optimizations, server-side rendering, hydration, and advanced state management
TypeScript proficiency with experience maintaining enterprise-scale applications
Advanced CSS knowledge: Tailwind, SCSS, CSS-in-JS, animations, browser compatibility
Contemporary frontend tooling: React Query/TanStack ecosystem, design-token-based styling, modern build tools like Vite
Frontend architecture fundamentals: performance, accessibility, responsive design, testing, and maintainability
Testing mindset: knowledge of what to test, what not to test, and testing strategies for frontend applications
Experience with SSR and static site generation (e.g., Next.js) for SEO
Experience with complex product flows in e-commerce, travel, marketplace, or fintech
Ability to balance shipping features with multi-brand/white-label platform thinking

Nice-to-Have

Experience working in monorepos (Turbo, Nx, pnpm workspaces)
