About the role

Role Overview

Senior Frontend/Full-Stack Engineer on the Stays & Packages team, building accommodation and bundled travel experiences (hotels, alternative stays, and packages combining flights, cars, and lodging) for Hopper's multi-tenant platform.

Key Responsibilities

Drive frontend architecture decisions and build scalable solutions that enable efficient launching of new partner portals
Build features end-to-end, from UX and frontend to database integration
Optimize frontend performance (lazy loading, code-splitting, caching, Lighthouse optimizations)
Architect search experiences, booking flows, and checkout journeys across multiple partner portals
Work directly with PMs and business partners to define roadmap priorities
Collaborate cross-functionally and mentor through thoughtful documentation and async communication
Ship fast while maintaining long-term platform thinking in multi-brand/white-label environments

Required Qualifications

Deep expertise in React: functional components, hooks, performance optimizations, SSR, hydration, advanced state management
TypeScript proficiency: enterprise-scale application development and maintenance
Advanced CSS knowledge: Tailwind, SCSS, CSS-in-JS, animations, browser compatibility
Frontend architecture fundamentals: performance, accessibility, responsive design, testing, maintainability
Complex product experience: e-commerce, travel, marketplace, or fintech applications
Testing mindset: ability to write testable code with good judgment on what and how to test
Modern frontend tooling: React Query/TanStack ecosystem, design-token-based styling, build tools like Vite

SSR and static site generation experience (Next.js)
