Software Engineer in Test

Role Overview

Senior SDET to lead and actively execute the quality strategy within a cloud-native, serverless microservices platform on AWS. This is a hands-on automation engineering role (not traditional QA) that partners closely with engineering teams to build and implement scalable automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve an automation-first testing strategy across backend services, event-driven integrations, APIs, frontend automation, and CI/CD pipelines
• Redesign and implement a scalable test strategy aligned with a healthy test pyramid
• Build robust API and integration automation frameworks
• Implement contract testing across microservices
• Validate serverless workflows (Lambda, event-driven flows, IAM, retries, DLQs)
• Integrate quality gates into CI/CD pipelines
• Reduce regression time and flaky test rates
• Mentor engineers and drive shared ownership of quality

Required Skills

• Strong programming skills: TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, or similar
• Automation framework experience: Proven track record building automation frameworks
• API & distributed systems testing: Deep experience with REST APIs and testing distributed systems
• AWS expertise: Hands-on experience with Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, IAM
• Frontend automation: Experience with Cypress or equivalent
• CI/CD integration: Demonstrated experience integrating quality gates into CI/CD pipelines

• Remote role with PST work hours
