Software Engineer, Frontend

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer, Frontend at Mission Cloud, you will collaborate with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Backend Engineers to build effective, world-class tools for managing cloud and consulting services. This is a 100% remote position.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams to strategize, scope, and develop front-end web experiences that scale across browsers and devices
• Build fast, scalable, accessible, documented, and tested code using modern web standards (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Use contemporary technologies including React, TypeScript, Tailwind, GraphQL, and Storybook
• Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, accessibility, and performance across diverse audiences
• Balance shipping complex initiatives with mentoring and unblocking other engineers
• Drive critical decisions considering software best practices, system realities, stakeholder concerns, and roadmap obligations
• Create and maintain CI/CD deployments in Gitlab or similar tools

Requirements

• Professional experience developing web interfaces in React/JavaScript consuming REST and GraphQL APIs
• Expert-level knowledge of JavaScript, React, and their ecosystems
• Deep expertise in semantic HTML, accessibility, and design systems or component libraries
• Ability to create and maintain bundling and build tools, package dependencies, and CI/CD deployments
• Ability to mentor frontend engineers and provide clear technical feedback
• Experience writing tests with automated testing frameworks (Jest, Playwright, or similar)
• Strong teamwork and communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
• AWS Cloud Practitioner certification (to be achieved within one year of hire)

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with design systems and component libraries
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services
